It has been awhile since I have had my own space.  Ever since I can remember I have done my writing and computer work wherever I could find space or quiet.  Which have included kitchen table, living room floor, in bed, in the van even.  I have decided to focus more on my writing, especially my children’s book manuscript and just felt like I needed I space to call me own.
This idea of a sacred space is also something that is a focus in The Abundant Mama Project with Shawn L. Fink.   It has been over a year in this program and I was still searching for my space.  Well, I have finally decided to make this area more of my own.  We just recently purchased a New Mac and I have been on a mission to organize a space, my work space.  Since I’m the CEM (Chief Executive Mama) of this house I take care of a lot of things plus the extras for myself.  Mainly, I envisioned in this space a place where I could work on my writing, my abundant mama projects, my memory keeping, planning details for the family, bills and other miscellaneous paper work.  This is just a start as I tweak and tweak and find treasures for my space and figure out what works for me.
I recently went shopping at Winners (not a sponsored post)  I just seriously love Winners.  That is where I found most of my boxes, file folder, and pen/pencil organizer.  Piles of paper are common in my house as I try, try and try to file everything.
As I said I can’t resist pretty boxes and so here are two I’m using in my desk space.  Well, actually they are on the shelving unit behind the computer next to my phone.  The top box holds odd and ends such as planner stickers, extra washi tape, and any Project Life cards I can just grab and go for my journaling.  The bottom box contains items that need to be filed into the correct binders.

Now to the items on my desk.  The file holder and pencil/pen organizer are recent purchases from Winners as well but the file folders were from the Target Dollar Spot before they closed their doors here in Canada.

Action items are bills and other paper work that needs to be addressed right away.  The desk organizer in teal (my second favourite colour next to pink) which is stocked with coloured pens, pencils, binder clips, note pads, and other odd and ends.

I have my washi tapes easily accessible in this box that used to hold Kate Spade binder clips that I repurposed into holding my washi tapes.

I love this chalk board sign.  I can change the message whenever I want.  I love motivational reminders.

I found the perfect spot for this day of the week list book.  It is easy to jot the list down and also to rip out and place in my planner.

And here is the finished desk with everything in place.  Do you ever have this feeling after you have organized some area in your house?  No one can touch anything including myself so everything stays exactly in its place.  How long does it take to revert back to chaos?  Although, if it looks beautiful I’m more likely to keep it up.

Here is the view from my window while typing.  The melting has started and lets hope it continues.

Well there is a quick tour of my desk space where all the magic happens.  Okay, at least a lot of my time.

Cheers,
Bonnie
