HELLO BALI: A KIDS YOGA STORY BOOK REVIEW

My daughter and I enjoyed Goodnight Animal World: A Yoga Bedtime Story by Giselle Shardlow when we participated in a Book Review Tour of the book.  So when I saw Hello, Bali: A Yoga Island Adventure Book I thought this would be a nice addition to check out.  Yoga for the morning or during the day to energize and invigorate.  This book does that and more.

I love yoga and I enjoy books that make it easy for me to incorporate yoga into my day and introduce it to my daughter in a fun way.  This book is perfect for a morning routine or for a time during the day when a little bit of a relaxing and rebooting is needed.  It is easy to follow along with the poses and to teach her the pose as they are highlighted in a circle on the page.  Each pose also informs the reader of life in Bali.  For instance, one pose is the squat pose and we learn of the farmers in Bali and how they spend their day working in the muddy rice fields.  At the end of the book you and your child can even learn how to count in Indoesian.  I was just guessing at the pronunciation of the words so I will have to figure out some way to hear the words said so I can teach her proper pronunciation.  I love the educational value of this book as it is more than just the yoga poses and it can aid in building positive parent/child relationship if done together.

Extended Mountain Pose

Here she is doing Extended Mountain Pose.  It was finally nice outside and I thought doing some yoga outside would be great.  It’s not Bali and there is no beach but you can do yoga anywhere and have fun doing it.  And of course after she just wanted to twirl, twirl and twirl.

Overall, this Yoga Island Adventure is a great addition to anyone just beginning a yoga practise with children or as a new addition for a yoga teacher.  It is also a wonderful companion to her Goodnight Animal World: A Yoga Bedtime Story.  You can see my review of that book here but the giveaway for that book is over.
*Disclosure: I was given a ebook version of the book to participate in the Book Blast Review Tour through Mother Daughter Book Reviews.  By posting a review I have my name entered into a draw to win a prize.  However, I only review and post on books that are of an interest to my family, we enjoyed or I think might be of interest to my readers.
Cheers,
Bonnie
