ST. PATRICK’S DAY BOOKS FOR KIDS PLUS FREE PRINTABLE

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day I have the pleasure of sharing with you two new books to add to your kids collection.  My kids are fascinated with the mischievous leprechaun who has turned out toilet and milk green.  Have your kids devised elaborate plans to catch him?  If they have they will enjoy the new book by Adam Wallace How to Catch a Leprechaun.  If you have a Curious George fan in the house then this board book titled Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Curious George will teach them about different aspects about the Irish and some of the common symbols associated with St. Patrick’s Day.

Disclosure: I was provided these books from Raincoast Books in order to facilitate this review.  Raincoast Books is a Canadian wholesale distributor. All opinions are my own.

St. Patrick’s Day Books For Kids

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Curious George  written by Cynthia Platt and cover & interior illustrations by Mary O’Keefe Young.

An easy flap board book that will take your child along with Curious George through various topics all related to St. Patrick’s Day.  It makes for a lovely read aloud as it has a pleasing rhyming text.  And of course, what is a Curious George story without a little bit of trouble caused by the little monkey.

How to Catch a Leprechaun by Adam Wallace and illustrated by Andy Elkerton. This is the second book in the How to Catch Series written and illustrated by the same guys I have reviewed.  You can visit my post on How to Catch an Elf here.  Now, how about the mischievous guy leprechaun.  Similar to the previous book the reader is taken on an adventure of escape through the elf’s eyes as he ducks and dodges all those elaborate traps to capture him.

First, the different kinds of mischief you may discover.

Second, the different attempts with different kind of traps the leprechaun has seen over the years.

Will you be the child to catch him?

In order to help you with devising your child’s master plan to catch the leprechaun I have a free printable to get them started with their brainstorming.  Draw out your trap or describe it in words.
